Promotional Terms

Any promotion offered by Cost Advice are subject to the normal terms of business located at www.costadvice.co.uk/terms-and-conditions along with the following:

1. The promotion may be cancelled or amended at any time by Cost Advice (Cost Advice Services Limited), its employees or any other such party as instructed by Cost Advice without prior notice.

2. Where any additional services are being offered for free, they are in association with the normal terms of business which the customer satisfies themselves they have read, understood and accepted fully.

3. Any services in addition to energy brokerage services will only be provided where the customer has elected to use Cost Advice for their energy brokerage services. Energy brokerage services are defined as accepting an electricity and/or gas supply offer via Cost Advice for a minimum period of 12 months.

4. Energy reporting, including spend and consumption reports, are only suitable for supplies which are billed monthly to accurate readings. If the client wishes to receive reports for non-monthly billed accounts the client fully understands these will not accurately reflect the correct pattern of consumption, spend, or both.

5. Free Energy reporting is limited to 2 supplies of gas and 2 supplies of electricity per organisation. Any additional reporting requirements are chargeable and are to be discussed with Cost Advice. Energy reports can stop at any time at the discretion of Cost Advice.

6. Where any ‘Price Guarantee’ has been offered to a customer, this is subject to:

A) any ‘Price Match’ offer is only valid for new customers to Cost Advice Services Ltd and is not eligible for quotes directly received from energy suppliers. Customers that have arranged any supply contract via Cost Advice in the past, and Customers that have not been sent the offer directly from CostAdvice are not eligible for this offer, and

B) this offer is not eligible for Customers who have already received quotes from another TPI and Cost Advice must be the first TPI to present prices. The offer to price match another TPI is valid for one counter-offer only. Where subsequent counter-offers are made or where Cost Advice are not the first TPI to obtain or present quotes will result in any price guarantee and/or any cashback incentive being withdrawn, and

C) the recommended or most competitive electricity or gas supplier promoted by the other TPI is a supplier which Cost Advice Services Ltd has a third party agreement with, and

D) offers being made for 12, 24 or 36 months only. i.e. bespoke length contracts are not eligible within this promotion, and

E) offers being based on like-for-like volume and contract terms. For example where customers are part of a purchasing ‘basket’ this offer is not valid, and

F) the alternative quotation being a legitimate and currently valid quotation, the alternative offer being made in writing and all offer documents (including the supplier contract) are provided to Cost Advice for verification, and

G) comparisons must take into account all charges, for example where a Third Party Intermediary charges seperately for consultancy/comparison services, and

H) Customers that have engaged 2 or more additional TPIs will not be eligible for this offer.

I) Where any monetary payment or cash-back incentive has been offered in cases where Customers request Cost Advice to match the offer via another TPI, subject to the conditions above, payment shall only be made i) if all the conditions above have been met, ii) the customer arranging the supply agreement via Cost Advice with the relevant documentation provided by Cost Advice, iii) subject to ii. upon the commencement of the supply contract, and iv) upon receipt of a suitable invoice provided by the customer to Cost Advice, v) any monetary incentive or ‘cash-back’ incentives provided or offered by another TPI is not to be included in the comparison exercise.

J) the customer must give Cost Advice adequate time to gather consumption data, tender to suppliers, receive and analyse quotations, together with a valid Letter of Authority as drafted and requested by Cost Advice from time to time, and to refresh any quotations in order to match another TPI. If due to this timeframe the initial quote from another TPI is no longer valid then Cost Advice cannot guarantee to beat the quotation and no monetary payment will be made to the customer.

7. Any guarantee to beat any other electricity or gas supply quotation provided by a third party (TPI) is subject to;

A) those offers being the first offer made by the other TPI, and

B) the recommended or most competitive electricity or gas supplier promoted by the other TPI is a supplier which Cost Advice Services Ltd has a third party agreement with, and that Supplier provides the same base prices to Cost Advice as they have the other TPI(s), and

C) that offer being made in writing with all Supplier contractual documentation provided, a copy of which is provided to Cost Advice Services Ltd. For the avoidance of doubt, a verbal quote or email from another TPI without supporting Supplier contractual offer documents will not be deemed a legitimate offer, and

D) offers being made for 12, 24 or 36 months only. i.e. bespoke length contracts are not caught within this promotion, and

E) offers being based on like-for-like volume and contract terms. For example where customers are part of a purchasing ‘basket’ this offer is not valid, and

F) the alternative quotation being a legitimate and currently valid quotation. If the Supplier promoted by the other TPI refutes or cannot confirm the ligitimacy of the offer from the other TPI, then the offer from the other TPI will be deemed invalid, and

G) comparisons must take into account all charges, for example where a Third Party Intermediary charges seperately for consultancy/comparison services.

H) where any monetary payment, cashback, vouchers or credit has been offered in cases where Cost Advice are unable to beat the quote provided by the other TPI, subject to the conditions above, payment shall only be made i) if all the conditions above have been met, ii) if Cost Advice are unable to beat, but are able to match the quote provided by the other TPI, the customer arranging the supply agreement via Cost Advice with the relevant documentation provided by Cost Advice, iii) subject to ii. upon the commencement of the supply contract, and iv) upon receipt of a suitable invoice provided by the customer to Cost Advice where applicable and necessary at the discretion of CostAdvice, v) any monetary incentive or ‘cash-back’ incentives provided or offered by another TPI is not to be included in the comparison exercise, vi) any terms associated with the use of, requirement to register for, spending of, receipt of or otherwise any associated actions required for the use of any third party vouchers or credit are out of the control of Cost Advice and Cost Advice shall not be responsible for any such terms or responsibilities, actions or obligations required by you for the successful use of or spending of such vouchers, credit or coupons.

I) Cost Advice may, at their discretion, offer any form of ‘cash back’ to the Customer as part of their quotation which would enable Cost Advice to beat the quotation offered by the other TPI. This clause is particularly apparent where another TPI may be quoting with zero commission included and/or no charges being made directly to the Customer.

J) the customer must give Cost Advice adequate time to gather consumption data, tender to suppliers, receive and analyse quotations, together with a valid Letter of Authority as drafted and requested by Cost Advice from time to time. If due to this timeframe the initial quote from another TPI is no longer valid then Cost Advice cannot guarantee to beat the quotation and no monetary payment will be made to the customer.

K) This promotion does not apply if the expected annual consumption of electricity is less than 50,000 kWh, or expected annual consumption of gas is less than 100,000 kWh.

L) The requested start date of the Customer’s contract must be a minimum of 30 days from the date Cost Advice Services Ltd have been requested to provide a quotation.

8. Where CASL have offered to provide their invoice verification and reporting service, or any other service for a trial period without charge, this is subject to:

A) The Customer providing all necessary, unrestricted authority (including where necessary a signed Letter of Authority on the Customer’s headed paper) and access to the Customer’s invoices or other information necessary to provide such services, for which they wish the invoice verification and reporting service to be provided, which may include allowing CASL the authority to receive the original invoices in the post directly from the supplier, and

B) CASL may, at their discretion, limit the number and/or type of supplies for which the service is provided, or at their discretion choose those customers is does and does not wish to provide the service. Qualification criteria including minimum spend, minimum usage or any other criteria may apply and be changed at any time by CASL without notice.

C) CASL may, at their discretion and for any reason, cancel such service at any time without notice.

D) Invoice verification may only be performed for supplies which have a fixed term, fixed price supply contract.

E) The offer is only available to new customers of CASL.
