Commercial energy users will see large increases in CCL costs from 1st April 2019 due to the abolition of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme.
As the Government will no longer be receiving income from the CRC scheme, which was previously paid via large energy users, this income will now be derived from all commercial energy users subject to CCL.
The changes in CCL rates is as follows:
|
Current CCL rate to 31st March 2019
(p/kWh)
|
New CCL rate from 1st April 2019
(p/kWh)
|
% increase | |
| Gas | 0.203 | 0.339 | 67% |
| Electricity | 0.583 | 0.847 | 45% |
Example:
For a customer using 500,000 kWh of gas and 150,000 kWh of electricity, costs will increase by £1,076.
