2023/2024 – Climate Change Levy (CCL) changes

The Governments environmental tax, Climate Change Levy (CCL), is set to change as of 1st April 2023.

Climate Change Levy is an environmental tax charged by Government, through your supplier on energy that businesses use.  This tax was introduced to encourage businesses to implement energy efficiency measures to reduce consumption as well as helping to reduce overall emissions.

These are reviewed annually and below are the rates charged as of 1st April 2023:

  • Electricity: 0.775p/kWh
  • Gas: 0.672p/kWh

Certain businesses are exempt from paying Climate Change Levy or maybe eligible for a reduction in the rates paid.

For further information regarding the above or for a no-obligation Energy Health Check to see if your business is eligible for a reduction, please contact Daniel Walker on 01246 252788 or by e-mail at Daniel.walker@costadvice.co.uk, whereby he will be happy to help.
